Ever since I can remember, I have always been very fascinated by the rich history of my country, India and why wouldn't I be, after all, I am the proud daughter of a history professor who is specialized in Epigraphy(the study of scripts) and numismatics(the study of coins). As a kid, I would tag along with my mother for her research visits to ancient architectures and caves of India in search of inscriptions. Due to these trips, I was exposed to ancient scripts such as Sanskrit, Pali, Modi very early on

During the 2020 lockdown, I got the opportunity to learn the basics of the Modi script. I took the online class under Dr. Shridatta Raut, master of Indian ancient scripts and a conservationist.

The Modi alphabet was invented during the 17th century to write the Marathi language of Maharashtra, India. It is a variant of the Devanāgarī alphabet. The Modi alphabet was used until 1950 when it was replaced by the Devanāgarī alphabet.”-
